How long does it take to get a pilot’s license?

The time it takes to earn your private pilot’s license (PPL) varies. Work and school balance will affect how long your training takes. if you are committed to flying multiple times a week, 3-6 months. Only flying once or twice a week could be anywhere from 6- 12 months.

What type of pilot’s license should I pursue first?

The most common first step is to obtain a Private Pilot Certificate (PPL). This allows you to fly non-commercially. If you plan to fly professionally, you can later pursue an Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Certificate, or Airline Transport Pilot License.

When will I actually begin flying?

On your first lesson, with your Certified Flight Instructor's (CFI) help of course. With each lesson, your CFI will assist you less and less until you reach a point of self-reliance. When you reach this point, you will make your first solo flight.

No, you do not need any prior experience to start flight training. Our flight training caters to beginners and provides all the training necessary to become a licensed pilot, starting from the basics.

New students start in The Cessna 150 which was designed for flight training.

Simplicity: The Cessna 150 is known for being simple to fly. 
Visibility: The high wings provide good visibility for the pilot and passenger. 
Handling: The Cessna 150 has forgiving flight characteristics and excellent handling.

How much does flight training cost?

Flight training costs depend on the flight school, location, and type of aircraft used. On average, it can cost between $15,000 and $20,000 for a Private Pilot’s License. This includes cost of aircraft rental, ground lessons and FAA tests. You need minimum of 40 hours to get your Private Pilots license, but the national average is 70 hours ($180/h x 70hrs = $12,600)

Can I attend flight school part-time?

Yes, our flexible schedules allow you to be in full control of your scheduling. However, consistent practice and flight time are important to retain skills and knowledge. Three times a week is usually a good sweet spot for training.

Yes, we are open year-round, although weather conditions may affect flight availability. Our instructors take the weather into account everyday before considering a flight.

How long does a lesson last?

Most lessons are based on a 1.5 hour flight, but they may take 2-3 hours from start to finish because there's more to it than flying. There are pre- and post-flight discussions (ground school), where you and your CFI talk about what you're going to do, how you did, what you did well, what needs work and what you'll do on your next lesson.

You arrive at the airport, preflight the aircraft and get in with your instructor to go flying. All training is hands on, you learn to fly by flying.

They will not be able to fly together at the same time, but for ground lessons and teaching new subjects our instructors are more than happy to accommodate two people at once to save you time and money.

What's the difference between Part 61 and 141?

Accepted Answer

Whether you train at a flight school under Part 141 or Part 61, you'll learn the same things and take the same FAA tests. The only real difference is the order in which you learn things. Part 141 schools must use a structured curriculum that teaches skills in a specific order. Part 61 schools are not bound to a structured curriculum; they can rearrange the order in which you learn things to suit your needs and schedule.
